On Monday TheWrap announced the nominees, with Penny Dreadful scoring three prominent nominations. The Victorian supernatural drama picked up a nod for Best Television Series-Genre, competing with popular veteran programs like AMC's The Walking Dead and HBO's Game of Thrones.

The show also received nominations for Best Actress In A Drama Series for Eva Green's critically acclaimed performance in the role of Vanessa Ives and Best Actor in A Supporting Role In a Series for Rory Kinnear's tender yet brutal turn as Frankenstein's creature, Caliban.

The attention the series is getting at the award show could help promote the program's new season, which will be longer and even more involved than the first. With great evil rising and Vanessa Ives' uncertainty regarding her connection with demons, the new episodes will likely hit the ground running.

The Satellite Awards will take place in Los Angeles on Feb. 15, 2015.
