Many characters on Fox's Glee are slated to return to their hometown of Lima, Ohio in the upcoming final season for a variety of reasons.

'Glee's Rachel & Blaine Return To Coach New Clubs, Bond Over 'Suddenly Seymour'

Firstly, Rachel (Lea Michele), who many assumed would be the biggest star of the bunch, returns to Ohio after being "humiliated" in Hollywood, according to a new synopsis for the first episode of the season. She then finds out that her two dads are getting a divorce, making matters even worse.

Meanwhile, Blaine (Darren Criss) is feeling down from his breakup with Kurt (Chris Colfer), in addition to being dropped by NYADA due to his slipping grades. He returns to Ohio as well and proceeds to coach the Dalton Warblers.

Additionally, Sam (Chord Overstreet) has given up on his modeling and returns to Ohio in order to take the position of assistant football coach at McKinley High.

Kurt ultimately finds himself back in Lima to help coach the new glee club at McKinley with Rachel, which ultimately "comes with a catch, and a whole new set of challenges."

In the show's second episode of the final season, Rachel brings in some of her classmates to help make the glee club seem cool. As such, Puck (Mark Salling), Santana (Naya Rivera), Mercedes (Amber Riley), Brittany (Heather Morris), Artie (Kevin McHale) and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) all return to Lima to act as recruits for the new club.

Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is hellbent on making the school as sports-oriented as possible, which means no room for artistic clubs. The returning classmates find themselves shocked to see how much McKinley has changed since they graduated.

It remains to be seen how many of these graduates will stick around in Ohio, though it looks like at least Rachel, Kurt, Blaine and Sam will be around for awhile.

Glee returns for its sixth and final season on Friday, Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
