A new plot synopsis for an upcoming episode of Fox's Glee reveals that Rachel (Lea Michele) may possibly be going back to Broadway.

'Glee' Star Jane Lynch Talks Rachel & Kurt Being 'On The Warpath' In New Episodes

Rachel had to leave her dreams of Broadway (and Hollywood) behind in the six months in between season 5 and season 6. Returning home to Lima, she is now in charge of the new New Directions alongside Kurt (Chris Colfer). However, a former classmate may be able to convince her to go back to Broadway.

The plot synopsis for episode 6, titled What The World Needs Now, of the new season has been released by Fox, revealing that Mercedes (Amber Riley) will try to do some persuading.

"During a Burt Bacharach tribute week, Mercedes returns to Ohio to convince Rachel to pursue her Broadway dreams," the synopsis reads.

It remains to be seen if Rachel will follow Mercedes' advice, though the show may decide to leave the character in Lima in order to have closure for the audience.

Meanwhile, another big plot-line will be underway in the episode, involving Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera).

"Brittany and Santana have some family convincing to do," the synopsis reads.

This, coupled with the news that Brittany and Santana will be getting married in the final season, suggests that they will be trying to convince their families of their plan to get married.

Glee airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
