On Friday, Jenner's detailed interview with Diane Sawyer aired where he revealed that he is a woman. This caused a lot of heads to turn with plenty of comments from the public on what they thought. Maroney took to her Twitter page to express how she felt about this and it turns out that she couldn't be more proud of Jenner for being who she is.

"proud of bruce jenner," the gymnast tweeted. "idc how many ppl think otherwise. Someone who's not afraid to be who they are is an inspiration to me, and the world."

In the reality star's interview, Sawyer asked Jenner if she is indeed a woman.

"For all intents and purposes, I'm a woman," the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star answered, posted on ABC News. "People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in my life-- it is part of me. That female side is part of me. That's who I am."

Jenner gave more details on how she very much feels more like a female and how that can be complex for others to understand.

"My brain is much more female than it is male," she said. "It's hard for people to understand that, but that's what my soul is."
