He vowed he never wanted anything to do with her ever again after realizing just how badly she had betrayed him, but after learning of Serena's (Melissa Archer) latest actions, Eric (Greg Vaughn) will soften a bit towards his former flame on Days of Our Lives.  

Serena Stunned By Daniel's Decision About Nicole

He ended things with Serena after finally learning about her diamond smuggling scheme with Xander (Paul Telfer), a scheme which nearly got both him and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) killed. Since that fateful night, Eric has been dealing with his torn emotions over the fact that he still loves Nicole, who has moved on and made wedding plans with Daniel (Shawn Christian).  

However, after getting the phone call that Caroline (Peggy McCay) had been hospitalized after having a stroke, Eric will be shocked to learn that Serena was the one who saved his grandmother's life. She was next to Caroline after she initially fell, and recognized the signs of the stroke quickly enough to call for help and get her to the hospital in enough time to save her life. 

Daniel Questions Nicole About What Happened With Eric

After learning of her actions, Eric will begin to soften a bit more, recognizing signs of the Serena he remembered from their prior romance in Africa, before she got caught up in Xander's cons. And though he won't likely begin feeling like she's worthy of taking back, his new appreciation for her could soon be replaced with regret if she informs him that she is now planning to leave Salem-and all of the destruction she caused there-behind for good. 

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
