As the weather picks up during this roasting heat, makeup artist Kat Von D gave some tips on how a painted face can be controlled.

Kat Von D Celebrates Her Birthday, But Not The One You're Thinking Of

On Wednesday, The National shared an interview with the artist who mentioned some products from her brand that work well when the heat comes in. As people work on their lips and eyes, it might be worth it to see some useful items in Von D's collection.

"Yeah, it's so hot out there, you don't want a caked face," she said. "I've developed foundations and powders that are long-wearing, so that ladies won't need to constantly reapply or retouch. The lock-it foundation is pretty bulletproof and gives coverage, but importantly it's also very comfortable to wear."

Von D then gave the impression that she might get a tattoo that has some sort of representation of her makeup since it's going so successfully.

"I think it's a bit weird to tattoo my own name, as I'm not likely to forget it. I've just redrawn the KVD monogram and it might be nice to celebrate the new makeup line," she said. "Especially, now that we're officially becoming global."

The artist then pointed out what she likes to do when she's not busy working on lipstick or skin art.

"I like to stay indoors and I'm not a crazy party animal," she said. "I've been sober for eight years now and I'm a vegan. I don't even own a television. Instead, I have a lot of instruments at home and I'm constantly making music or drawing and making art."
