President Obama is set to show off his Wild side with Bear Grylls.

Known survivalist and wilderness expert Bear Grylls' Running Wild With Bear Grylls is known for putting celebrities through their paces in the backcountry, and the NBC series will play host to the Commander in Chief later this year.

"President Obama will become the first U.S. president to receive a crash course in survival techniques from Bear Grylls," the White House announced on Monday, according to The New York Times.

Filming for the episode will take place in Alaska's Kenai Mountains on Tuesday. Obama is currently in Alaska observing climate change and the President spent Sunday announcing his plans to restore the Alaska Native's name to Mt. McKinley.

A British adventurer, Bear Grylls has captivated wannabe outdoorsmen since Man vs. Wild debuted on the Discovery Channel in 2006. Since then, the Mt. Everest veteran has appeared on a host of programs including Worst Case Scenario, Get Out Alive, Escape From Hell, and Bear Grylls' Survival School.

Running Wild usually plays hosts to actors like Ben Stiller, Kate Hudson, and Channing Tatum. Catch the NBC series airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
