Actress Lily Rabe recently previewed her upcoming performance in FX's American Horror Story: Hotel.

Madchen Amick Reveals 'American Horror Story' Episode Titles

Rabe is set to play infamous serial killer Aileen Wuornos in AHS: Hotel, a role that will surely push the actress to the limits. She spoke with Shine On Media this week and teased what it's been like stepping into the new role.

"There is just an incredible amount of amazing material to dive into," she explained. "American Horror Story is such a specific world so it really is Aileen Wuornos in that world, which I think is inevitably going to be different than her in any other context because there really is no world out there like that of American Horror Story, so bringing the two together has been the most exciting challenge to find the right balance of everything."

Will Jessica Lange Ever Return To 'American Horror Story'?

Asked to tease the new season in a word, Rabe simply said, "it's insane."

Rabe's Aileen Wuornos will be part of the Halloween episode this year, alongside fellow well-known serial killers like John Wayne Gacy.

Charlize Theron played Wuornos in the 2003 biopic Monster, a role that won her an Oscar for Best Actress. The typically glamorous actress drastically altered her appearance for the role. Will Rabe do the same?

Rabe has appeared on every season of American Horror Story, playing Nora Montgomery in Murder House, Sister Mary Eunice in Asylum, Misty Day in Coven and Sister Mary Eunice again in Freak Show.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
