Werewolves and vampires and seelies, oh my! The Downworlders are ready to invade Shadowhunters.

The upcoming ABC Family series will follow the adventures of Clary Fray as she dives into New York City's supernatural underground. A half-angel/half-human nephylm, Clary will soon discover that she is no normal teen - she is a Shadowhunter, tasked hunting down the demons of the world.

The angelic and devilish entities, however, aren't the only supernatural creatures roaming the streets of the Big Apple. As Clary works to uncover the mystery of her clouded past and save her kidnapped mother, she will come across four different types of Downworlders (creatures believed to be part human and part demon).\

"You'll get to see seelies, warlocks, werewolves and vampires. #downworlderpride," the Shadowhunters writers revealed on Friday.

In fact, one of Clary's pals may actually become a Downworlder before the season is out. Simon, our protagonists human BFF, may soon develop a taste for blood. While the writers were loath to dole out too many details, they did tease the following:

"Can't give too much away. But [Simon] definitely will encounter the vamps."
