The Chelsea squad will be going up against Swansea in the first leg of its 11th League Cup semifinal on Wednesday.

Although the two football clubs' pasts may vary in accomplishments, the latest game in the Capital One tournament should be a closely matched showdown.

Almost exactly a decade ago, the Blues made a drastic change. Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took control of Chelsea and since then has spent a considerable amount of money turning them into one of Europe's premiere squads.

However, Abramovich has brought about some high-tier expectations for the manager's position, as anything short of dominance is seemingly viewed as a disappointment. Rafael Benitez is the latest coach suspected of being on thin ice. He will look to bring the Capital One trophy to Stamford Bridge in order to sustain his post as skipper.

"We want to win every game, we know it's a semifinal and we will try to be in the final," Benitez said, according to Chelsea's official website. "We have a lot of respect for Swansea, they are a good team and they are doing well.  It could be an interesting game for the fans."

"It's important to get to the final with my team and my team now is Chelsea.  I will try to do my best for my club, if we can win every trophy I will be very pleased," he added.
