Lamar Odom was said to be on the right path to recovery, but in the latest news he is up against not only physical but mental challenges as well.

The former Los Angeles Lakers star was rushed into emergency surgery Thursday, having to undergo two major operations, TMZ reported.

The specifics of the surgeries have not been revealed but it is does have to do with his heart and lungs. What we do know is that he is said to be in “a fragile mental state” and very “emotional” and “upset” as a result of the surgeries.

Doctors have even ordered that Odom have no visitors while he tries to recover, except his wife,  reality star Khloe Kardashian. The two split back in December 2013 when she filed divorce papers. But interestingly enough, they both did not sign until this past summer.

After Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel upon reportedly overdosing on a Viagra-like drug and possibly using cocaine, he was rushed to the hospital. Kardashian has been by his side ever since. It also came out that the two were still legally married because a judge had not yet signed off on their permanent split. Kardashan and Odom decided to toss out their divorce for now.

One insider said, “Khloe thinks this was the right thing to do right now.”

Odom, who starred in Keeping Up With The Kardashians with Kardashian and her family during the early stages of their marriage, was transferred from a Nevada hospital to one in Los Angeles earlier this week.
