Barry Allen will get a taste of happiness in The Flash season 2.

'The Flash' Season 2 Episode 5: Grant Gustin Teases John Wesley Shipp's Return, Where Is Henry Allen?

The Flash spent his first year as the Scarlett Speedster pining over Iris, but now that Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) is in the picture, Mr. Allen will have a chance to move on. In a twist on the Barry (Grant Gustin)/Iris (Candice Parron)/Eddie (Rick Cosnett) situation, it will now be Iris' turn to see her potential love interest fall into another's arms.

Luckily for viewers, Iris will handle this twist with slightly more grace than her BFF.

"What's important is Iris loves Barry and wants to see him happy," Patton informed TV Line. "As hard as it was for [Barry], he just wanted her to be happy. So when Iris sees that Barry has an interest in a woman - and a really great woman at that - she's quite supportive and happy for the both of them."

It will take a little time though for Patty and Iris to strike up a friendship. When they do, however, it will be much stronger than Barry and Eddie's.

"It's more of a friendship where they ask each other for advice," Patton explained. "It's going to be really nice to see two women share a common love for a man, in a different way at this point, to having a bonding experience over that."
