It was only a matter of time before Francis left the series since he was destined to pass on at some point. And he finally did, leaving everyone in shock and emotion no matter how much peace was made.

So what does this mean for the future? According to Saturday's report from Carter Matt, it seems like everyone will have other things to focus on.

Is 'Reign' Getting Canceled After Third Year?

First of all, Mary will realize she needs to help Catherine become regent even though it puts Scotland at risk. Claude is also going to help Leith get married and Elizabeth worries about losing Dudley.

That's some stuff down, but the promo for next week's episode shows a little more detail. Mary is doing what she can to hold herself together now that Francis is gone although she'll have her own share of breaking down. There is also more chatter on the regent and what lies ahead for Scotland.

Elizabeth is also going to show more of her bad self as she points out that she needs to take the queen down.

No matter how emotional the series gets, fans can expect plenty more dark and evil scandal.
