Viewers of NCIS have gotten bits and pieces of Abby's (Pauley Perrette) personal life outside of her lab at NCIS HQ over the years, and even more of her personal life will be divulged this season.

Gibbs Will Inject Himself Into Bishop's Marital Problems On Upcoming 'NCIS' Episode?

Perrette took to Twitter last Monday to announce which actor will portray her character's brother Luca.

"We'll FINALLY meet Abby's brother Luca!" she tweeted excitedly, adding that Tyler Ritter will have the honor of portraying him.

What Is 'The Abby Effect' That 'NCIS' Star Pauley Perrette Is Involved With?

The NCIS star then gave a tiny "refresher" to fans about her character's family, since Daniel Louis Rivas had previously appeared in Season 9's fourth episode, "Enemy on the Hill," and Season 10's second episode, "Recovery," as Abby's brother Kyle.

Kyle and Abby are biologically related, whereas Luca is adopted.

"Abby's adopted bro Luca will be played by @TylerRitter," she shared in her "refresher," adding that she loves both actors!

Ritter is looking forward to joining the NCIS family!

"So incredibly excited," he tweeted, adding he has "so much love" for Perrette.

It turns out Ritter will also appear on NCIS: New Orleans in a crossover between NCIS and its Crescent City spin-off.

"Occasionally you find the perfect actor for a role, and casting Tyler Ritter as Abby's brother couldn't be better. Tyler embodies everything we were looking for in Luca Sciuto. He's warm, caring, funny, eccentric, offbeat and inquisitive. We are thrilled to have him for this very special crossover episode of NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans," TVLine learned from the two NCIS series' showrunner, Gary Glasberg.

NCIS airs on Tuesdays on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.
