Joey was diagnosed with cancer in June 2014, and since then, she's undergone radical surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

One day before Joey's Facebook photo was shared, her husband Rory, whom she married in 2002, updated their blog with an emotional post, revealing Joey was no longer able to get out of bed.

"Though now, she can no longer get out of bed – she is so sharp and clear and her pain, for the most part, is so under control by the medicine that talking to her – you would think she’s her normal self," Rory explained. "When God begins to take the light from the outside… the light inside just shines all that much brighter. It’s amazing. She’s amazing."

Joey is currently living in a hospice after leaving a hospital in October to spend more time with daughter Indiana and say goodbye to her step-daughters.
