Scott Weiland, best known for his grungy voice has passed away at 48. The singer's death was first reported and confirmed by his wife/photographer, Jamie Weiland. In a brief conversation with LA Times, she said: "I can't deal with this right now," she sobbed. "It's true."

Scott Weiland Sues Stone Temple Pilots, Seeking $7 Million in Damages 

The former frontman of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver have longed struggled with addiction. However, the cause of death is yet to be revealed. Weiland's manager Tom Vitorino also confirmed the singer's death.

On his Facebook page, it read that Weiland had "passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota." The statement goes on to say: "At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott's family be respected."
