He keeps a fairly low profile outside of his acting career, but Ryan Gosling is finally letting himself a little more out of hiding this weekend when he hosts Saturday Night Live for the first time.

The actor is making his debut on the Dec. 5 show, and fans everywhere are likely readying their DVRs or clearing their schedules to watch live, because there's no guarantee the opportunity will come again. With the hype around his hosting gig only growing, here are our 4 reasons why we can't wait to watch:

He Is Gorgeous

There's really no denying that Gosling is one of the most attractive actors in Hollywood, or that several women find him attractive. Based on his promo with Aidy Bryant for the show, his being attractive will likely add to some hilarious skits and other quips.

He's Surprisingly Funny

A large portion of his movies have seen him in fairly dramatic or meaty roles, but the select few have seen the actor express him comedy chops-and his timing is pretty spot on. He's likely to have a few good zingers and one-liners throughout the broadcast
