After a first half of a season that seemed to disappoint the show's loyal fans, it appears The Walking Dead will finally get its gory and violent groove back in the second half of the season.

Morgan & Carol's Conflict Isn't Over

The show, which returns for its second half on February 14, will pick up where the action left off as Daryl (Norman Reedus, Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) make their way back to Alexandria-where Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and others are struggling to survive after Walkers invaded the town when a part of the wall collapsed.

And though the finale ended on a quiet note, with Rick, Carl, Michonne, Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge), Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), Ron (Austin Abrams) and Sam (Major Dodson) disguised under Walker guts and heading into the sea of them when Sam suddenly starts calling for his mother-it seems when things pick back up they won't be quiet at all.

Will Maggie Suffer An Unimaginable Fate?

Here are three things we learned from the Trailer:

The Truth That Alexandria Couldn't Really Be A Permanent Safe Haven Will Be Realized

"I thought living behind these walls was possible. I was wrong," Rick says in the trailer. After the group arrived in Alexandria and found a place that seemed to be a safe haven from everything outside, they knew immediately that they didn't belong there, but still tried to assimilate to the life the best they could anyway. But now, after Rick taking over and trying to show the Alexandrians how to actually survive in the world beyond the walls, it seems pretty clear to him that he probably never should have tried to live in their community after all, because he genuinely was meant to live outside and in the chaos.

Sam's Outburst Will Have Dire Consequences

Naturally, Sam calling for his mom as the group made their way through the sea of Walkers was going to bring them trouble. Disguising themselves under sheets covered in Walker guts was a way to hide their smell and keep them from being detected. But Walkers don't talk-and it appears that Sam speaking will quickly expose the group for what they actually are, and the violence they will have to face as they fight to stay alive could be some of the gruesome the show has seen yet.

Negan Is A Bigger Threat Than Anyone Knew

Of course, we can't forget about the big bad wolf-well not a Wolf. But Negan. Comic book fans know him as their most-hated villain because he and his studded baseball bat take out one of the fan favorite characters in a bloody way. While it's unclear if that character will suffer that fate at some point in this season or next, he and his saviors will make a big splash when they intercept Daryl, Sasha and Abraham and demand all of their possessions-threatening to shoot them if they don't cooperate. It seems that every enemy up until now-including the Governor and the Terminus cannibals-were nothing compared to who they'll be up against now.

The Walking Dead season 6 returns Sunday, Feb. 14 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
