After 16 and a half seasons, comedian Joy Behar will no longer be on the panel of The View and might be taking her talents to CNN.

The 70-year-old will stay on the show through August until her contract with ABC is up, according to The Associated Press. Prior to announcing her decision, Behar said she had a "positive meeting" with CNN's preisdent Jeff Zucker, prompting speculation that she might move to CNN after The View.

Though it's not confirmed where she'll go next, Behar said she left The View because it "seemed like the right time to move on," according to CNN Entertainment.

She was one of the originals on the daytime talk show aside from Barbara Walters.

The network told AP in a statement on Thursday, "all the best in this next chapter, and are thrilled that we have her for the remainder of the season."

Behar will still be on television: she hosts Say Anything! on Current TV, a show she started last year. Before that, she hosted The Joy Behar Show from 2009 to 2011.

Also in 2011, Behar married her boyfriend of 29 years, Steve Janowitz. She had prevously broken their engagement in 2009 and said at the time, "Actually, I got cold feet again," according to The New York Daily News.

Behar said she will miss everyone and credited seasoned journalist Walters as the reason why she got involved with The View in the first place.

"It is a smart talk show because somebody of her stature is leading the conversation; Barbara was one of the main reasons I took that job," Behar said, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Still on The View's panel are comedian Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
