George Clooney might be one of the most popular celebrities to come out of Hollywood, but it looks like not everyone is a fan.

In fact, Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders recently slammed Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney for an "obscene" fundraiser they are hosting for his opponent Hillary Clinton.

Yahoo indicates that the Clooneys are hosting a lavish, star-studded dinner to help raise money for Clinton's campaign and the Democratic National Convention. The couple is charging $33,400 per person for dinner while two lucky people can sit near the Hollywood couple—if they are willing to fork out $353,400 for the seats, that is.

Apparently, the fundraiser isn't sitting well with Sanders, who is criticizing the entire event as he thinks it's "obscene" that Clinton "keeps going to big-money people to fund her campaign."

The Vermont senator said, "I have a lot of respect for George Clooney. He's a great actor. I like him. But this is the problem with American politics ... Big money is dominating our political system. And [my supporters and I] are trying to move as far away from that as we can."

In comparison, many of Sanders' events only cost from $15 to $50 to get access to, as his campaign has been largely funded by small donations.

Sanders added, "It's not only this Clooney event. It is the fact she has now raised well over $15 million from Wall Street for her super-PAC, and millions more from the fossil fuel industry, and from the drug companies."

So far neither George nor Amal have made any comments about the criticism. Keep up with Enstars for all the latest news on all of your favorite celebrities, including the entire 2016 race to the White House, right here.
