The Flash's Barry Allen has made some questionable decisions over the last few months, from getting caught up with Iris on Earth-2 to traveling back in time. When the STAR Labs team makes a desperate play to regain Barry's speed, all these choices will seem like small potatoes.

Harry (Tom Cavanagh) has a plan to turn Barry (Grant Gustin) back into the Scarlet Speedster, but not everyone will be onboard with Well's plan to mimic the effects of the particle accelerator explosion. It worked once, after all, but it also left our hero in a coma for 9 long months. Now that the incident isn't up to fate (or Eobard's self-serving machinations), Henry Allen (John Wesley Ship) won't be willing to risk his son's life on the off chance he could stop Zoom (Teddy Sears).

"Harry thinks that between his particle-accelerator explosion [on Earth-Two] and what he learned from what the Thawne version of Wells did [on Earth-One], he can contain it and just get Barry his powers back," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told TV Line. "But it's complicated and dangerous."

If Barry has one Kryptonite, it's his stubbornness. When you combine that with his overwhelming guilt and big heart, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what the Flash will choose to do.

"Everyone, including Barry, has to sort of decide if this is the right way to go, considering the craziness that ensued last time," Kreisberg explained. "They're sort of faced with a 'Damned if you do, damned if you don't,' because Zoom is about to unleash a reign of terror on the city."

Even if Harry's scheme doesn't go according to plan, Barry will be ready to take on Zoom when the season finale rolls around.

"The final showdown is mano-a-mano, Barry vs. Hunter," Sears told Entertainment Weekly. "Because we haven't shot it yet, I don't even have a picture, but what's on the page, it proves to be epic in the truest sense of the word. It should be very fun and very satisfying for the viewers."
