Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One...it's time for a Dark Matter trailer!

Syfy's Dark Matter will rocket back into the line up this July, but, in the meantime, fans can catch up with the Raza's amnesiac heroes courtesy of season 2's first promo. Clocking in at just 20 seconds, the teaser is packed to the brim with new characters, new tech, and about a hundred new questions.

Series creator Joseph Mallozzi took the time to break down the trailer over on his blog, ramping up anticipation by spotlighting each intriguing detail. For those of you who are still dying for answers, however, we've combed through Malozzi's production teasers to help elucidate a few of the broader mysteries.

Everyone's Going to Jail...

Well, almost everyone. The sterile environment glimpsed at the four and six second marks is Hyperion 8, "one of the most fearsome intergalactic prisons in colonized space." Run by Warden Treihan, this space-age big house will briefly house Two (Melissa O'Neil), Three (Anthony Lemke), and Four (Alex Mallari, Jr.).

Where is the rest of the crew? Despite their recent actions, One (Maerc Bendavid) and Five (Jodelle Ferland) technically aren't wanted criminals. Six (Roger Cross), meanwhile, seems to have allied with the Galactic Authority....

Six, Friend or Foe?

Season 2 will start off much the same as season 1, with Four and his cohorts wondering, "What happened to us?"

This time around, however, Two has at least part of the answer. Her system of nanites allowed her to maintain consciousness as Six executed part of his traitorous coup, making her the only character that can point a finger at the Raza's turncoat.

"Two is the only person who wakes up knowing who betrayed us because she has that moment where she saw [Six] before he zaps her out," O'Neil told fans at Toronto Comic Con."[It's] seeing how that relationship kind of figures itself out and what we do when we're in prison."

In the world of Dark Matter, however, nothing is ever quite what it seems. While Six can clearly be seen wearing a GA uniform early in the teaser, the final moments show is body back in stasis on the Raza. What is he doing there? Your guess is as good as ours!

The Android Gets A Make Over?

Our beloved Android (Zoie Palmer) ended season 1 knowing there was a flaw in her system, but it was one she was willing to embrace. Now that the ship's AI is in the hands of the GA, Palmer's character may no longer have a choice in the matter.

The clip shows the Android hooked up to an unspecified machine, and she certainly doesn't look pleased to be there.

"There will definitely be some tinkering on Hyperion-8," Mallozzi said, indicating that all is not well for the quirky bot.

Will this tinkering cause her to let her hair out? If so, would this new version of the Android be as faithful to the Raza team?

Find out the answer to this and more when Dark Matter returns to Syfy on July 1.
