The devastating losses of being an Agent of SHIELD have pushed one hero over the edge.

The Marvel series closed out the season 3 finale with a six-month time jump, making it abundantly clear that the post-Lincoln (Luke Mitchell)/post-Hive (Brett Dalton) world is a very different place. Coulson's (Clark Gregg) no longer the director, Radcliffe (John Hannah) is buddy-buddy with FitzSimmons (and working on the first Life Model Decoy!), and Daisy (Chloe Bennet) has gone AWOL in spectacular fashion.

Quake is officially in play, but, if you ask the public, it's a 50/50 tossup whether or not the Inhuman is a hero or a villain. After clearly wiping out the local Walgreen's stock of dark eyeliner, emo Daisy spent the time jump saving her fellow Kree legacies while keeping the US Geologic Survey on its toes. Despite Coulson's best efforts, no one can seem to bring the lone wolf in.

"I can't say much but it is safe to assume, from what you see, that she is on her own, maybe returning to her roots of being a loner," executive producer Jed Wehdon told IGN. "Maybe in the wake of everything that's happened, feeling like having friends and having a team is a terrible idea."

Still suffering from crushing guilt thanks to the entire Hive/Lincoln debacle, Quake "feels like she has nothing left to lose." Clearly she should sit down with Team Cap - those are a few heroes who could school her on exactly what happens when the government catches up with rogue powered people. Nevertheless, the headstrong heroine will believe she is honoring Lincoln's final sentiments.

"She's still trying to make good on her promise to protect Inhumans and more importantly, make good on what Lincoln at the end says. 'I believe you're meant for more than this,'" Whedon explained. "I believe she's trying to make good on his belief in her and make sure that what he did is not meaningless."
