Scorpion will reward fans for their patience with a special two-hour season 3 premiere.

The CBS series sent viewers into the hiatus with two massive cliffhangers, and, after four long months of waiting, Team Scorpion will dive back into the fray on Monday Oct. 3. Scorpion will kick off the season at 9 p.m. ET before moving to its regular 10 p.m. ET slot on Oct. 10.

Last time we saw Walter (Elyes Gabel), Paige (Katharine McPhee), Happy (Jadyen Wong), Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and Sylvester (Ari Stidham), Homeland's go-to geniuses were thriving professionally even as their personal lives were burning down around them. Walter, perpetually incompetent when it comes to addressing his feelings, finally allowed emotion to rule the day has he sped toward Lake Tahoe and his love interest. Toby, meanwhile, crashed and burned with his proposal to Happy who, unbeknownst to the rest of the hurricane, is already married.

The premiere will pick up directly in the wake of these events, and fans should look forward to more movement on the Waige and Qunitis fronts.

"After the very last scene of the finale, as much as that has answered things, it's going to make the season premiere that much more exciting," Thomas tease, according to Entertainment Weekly. "So many questions and wants and needs for Walter and Paige and Happy and Toby are being opened up, and it's really exciting. I'm so grateful that we have clever writers who are listening to the fans and staying true to their original vision for the show."

For now, it appears as if Cabe (Robert Patrick) and Sly are the only characters standing on solid ground. After a turbulent season for the human calculator, being out of the emotional spotlight will no doubt come as a relief.

Do you think Happy and Toby can make it work? Will Walter get to Paige before she falls head over heels for Tim (Scott Porter)? Find out when Scorpion returns to CBS on Oct. 3.
