Hawaii Five-0 will offset the sharp bite of early autumn with a little taste of paradise.

The fall equinox will herald the changing of the leaves across the nation, but the Hawaii Five-0 season 7 premiere will return you to the sun and surf just one day after summer blinks out of existence. Set your DVRs for Sept. 23 at 10 p.m. because Chin (Daniel Dae Kim), McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin), Danny (Scott Caan), and Kono (Grace Park) are ready for another year of crime fighting.

Hawaii Five-0's writers have already returned to work, and the actors will step back in front of the camera in early July.

"Excited to be heading back to the beach July 6th!! #H50 Season 7," showrunner Peter Lenkov announced on Monday.

Although the season 6 finale ended without a cliffhanger, the premiere will pick up hard on the heels of McGarrett's liver transplant. Even former Navy SEALs take a while to recover from major surgery, and the Five-0 leader will finally be ready to exit the hospital as the fall run begins. Meanwhile, O'Loughlin's character will have plenty to think about in the wake of his meeting with Wo Fat's father. You can get a sneak peek at the opening scene in the photo below!

McGarrett won't be the only character reeling from recent events. Although Kono's home life is stalled due to Adam's imprisonment, her cousin will use season 7 to make a few massive strides in the domestic sphere. Abby will move in with the cop over the hiatus, and Chin's home may soon be filled with the sounds of childhood should he choose to adopt Gabriel's daughter.
