Tensions will flare as The Night Shift kicks of its two-part season finale, both at home and abroad.

As a wildfire rages outside San Antonio and a humanitarian crisis unfolds on the Syria-Turkey border, everyone's favorite ER docs will find themselves in over their heads during "Emergent."

"In part one of this two-part season finale, Scott (Scott Wolf) and Jordan (Jill Flint) face grave danger during a rescue mission at a rapidly spreading wildfire outside San Antonio," NBC teased. "Tensions are high between Syd (recurring guest star Jennifer Beals) and TC (Eoin Macken) as they find themselves in the middle of a humanitarian crisis on the Syria-Turkey border."

Back at the hospital, Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) and Shannon (Tanaya Beatty) will clash once more, this time over the proper course of treatment for a patient. While Topher (Ken Leung) fights to secure a future for San Antonio Memorial, Drew (Brendan Fehr) and Rick (Luke Macfarlane) will hit a roadblock in the plans to adopt a young cystic fibrosis patient.

Set to air on Aug. 24, episode 12 will mark the fist half of the season 3 finale. In the meantime, TC and co. will be dispatched to a construction zone in "Between a Rock and a Hard Place," only to find themselves saving two victims instead of one. The Aug. 3 episode will air at 9 p.m. ET as the first half of the season's second double-header. "Trust Issues" will then air at 10 p.m., during which TC's quick temper will land both him and Drew behind bars. The latter won't take the legal setback particularly well (can you blame him?), and tensions will boil over Jill learns a shocking truth about her new boyfriend.
