Scottish singer Emeli Sande has smashed The Beatles record of 62 consecutive weeks in the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart top 10.

Sande's album Our Version of Events is holding steady on the charts for the 63rd week straight.

"It feels quite surreal to even have your name mentioned in the same sentence as The Beatles," Sande said according to The Independent. "For a record to stay there for so long it means that people have connected with it so that's how I'm enjoying celebrating this record."

Nearly 50 years ago, The Beatles set the original record with 62 weeks in the top ten for their album Please Please Me.

"I'm so happy that so many people have connected with the stories and the songs on the record, this really is our version of events now," the 26-year-old stated according to MTV. "I'd like to say thank you to everyone that has bought, played or shared my music in the last year, without your support this would never have been possible."

This is the debut album for Sande and it has spawned three singles - "Read All About It," "Next to Me," and "Beneath Your Beautiful" - as well as numerous awards including the 2013 Brit Award for "Best Album of the Year" and "Best Female Solo Artist."

What's next for he intrepid musician? According to The Independent, the artist would like to make name for herself state side.
