Although it's still a long ways off from the second half of its final season, AMC's Breaking Bad continues to build in anticipation over its inevitable ending.

Vince Gilligan, who is the mastermind behind the TV series, recently spoke to Metro about the difficulties that come with closing out a popular show such as Breaking Bad, and the various choices his team had to make when composing it.

"Definitely. It's very difficult but it's been a blessing knowing exactly when Breaking Bad's finale was set for as it's allowed us to work toward a very specific ending for the last 16 episodes in terms of structure and parceling out story moments, plot points, emotions etc," he said.

Gilligan went on to elaborate on the differences between the real world and the landscape of storytelling, explaining that there's a vast difference in the two.

"As you say in real life a lot of things often just peter out but that's what I love about storytelling, you can create what is hopefully a much more satisfying ending than you would get in real life."

The creator also went on to say that he won't be leaving fans hanging in suspense such as the HBO hit show Sopranos did.

"My writers and I worked very hard on these final eight episodes, which the world has yet to see and I can tell you for sure it is an ending - people should expect a real, conclusive ending. I thought that the close of the Sopranos was very bold and very intriguing and very creative, but we are not taking the Sopranos route I can tell you that much."

AMC's Breaking Bad will be launching its second half of season 5 on Sunday, Aug. 11. Keep checking back for more of the latest details on the show.
