'The Bachelorette' 2013 Season 9, Episode 2 Results and Recap: Who Was Eliminated?
Monday night's two-hour episode of The Bachelorette saw the departure of Will, Robert and Nick M.
The episode started off with the first one-on-one date. First up was Brooks. Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock left him a message saying she was looking for a sign. As a wedding dress designer, Hartsock took Brooks to a bridal shop where the two tried on tuxes and dresses. Normally this would be enough to frighten a man off, but Brooks had fun dressing up in a bright green tuxedo.
Next the couple proceeded up to the Hollywood sign where they ate while sitting on the flat part of the "L," looking down on Los Angeles. But the day wasn't over yet. With Hartsock at the wheel, the pair headed into a sketchy part of town, making Brooks nervous when his date decided to go down a closed road. However, the 28-year-old went with the low and wound up having a candle lit dinner on a closed bridge while being serenaded by Andy Grammer.
Brooks received a rose before the night was out.
Fourteen of the men were then selected for a group date. Hartsock sent them a message asking, "Who is here for the right reasons?" Unbeknownst to them, the men were to be featured in a rap video with Solider Boy, giving them a chance to let lose and have fun. Later in the night, Ben received a rose following a group evening.
The second contestant to get to have a one-on-one outing with the Bachelorette was the quiet Bryden. However, during the course of the pairs road trip, Bryden opened up about a past car accident and what lead him to join the Army. Having been raised in Montana and never before visiting California, the road trip was a fun event for the 26-year-old. Following orange picking and a picnic, the two found themselves relaxing at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa where Bryden received his rose.
However, back at the house, tensions were fraught between Ben and the other men. Problems particularly arose after Ben interrupted another man and Hartsock's conversation after he had already received a rose. The other contestants feel as if Ben is already acting like he has the relationship in the bag. However, Hartsock seems not to know this problem exists.
By time the rose ceremony came around, Hartsock had decided to eliminate Will, Robert and Nick M from tihs season's show.
