PBS' hit British-American drama Downton Abbey continues to pique the interest of its fans in regards to the future of Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery), who ended Season 3 by becoming a widowed mother.

According to Aceshowbiz, Dockery spoke about Lady Mary's future moving forward, and prefers that her character is ultimately happy.

"I just want her to be happy eventually.  She was and now she's not again," she said.

When it was suggested to the actress that Lady Mary hook up with new character Jack Ross in the upcoming season, she gave the following response:

"Maybe that's what Julian [Fellowes - series creator]'s got up his sleeve.  She runs off with the jazz singer!" Dockery said.

Downton Abbey, which airs in 219 countries across the world, follows the ups and downs of the royal Crawley family and their staff in the 1920s, which the show is set to hone in on in Season 4.

"We're really kind of moved into the 20s now so it's all very Bright Young Things.  There are a lot of parties," Dockery said.

The series is set to premiere its fourth season in the U.S. on Jan. 5, 2014 until February 23, 2014.  Keep checking back for more of the latest details on the popular series.  For more Downton dirt on the upcoming season, check out the video below.
