American Idol contestant Ben Isaac Glaze wants everyone to know that show judge Katy Perry did not sexually harassed him when she kissed him during his audition.

Honored

Glaze is setting the record straight amid speculations that Perry may have sexually assaulted him during his audition. The 20-year-old American Idol hopeful, who was 19 when he auditioned in October, said that he feels honored to have been kissed by the singer and thankful to have been part of the show.

"I do not think i was sexually harassed by Katy Perry and i am thankful for the judges' comments and critiques, Glaze wrote in a lengthy post on his Instagram on Wednesday.

The Oklahoma-native also cleared a few things about his interview with The New York Times following the kissing incident. At the time, Glaze admitted that he felt a bit uncomfortable with the kiss. When asked if he would have kissed Perry when she asked him to, Glaze said that he would not.

"No, I would have said no. I know a lot of guys would be like, 'Heck yeah!' But for me, I was raised in a conservative family and I was uncomfortable immediately. I wanted my first kiss to be special," Glaze told the publication.

Speaking about the interview on his post, Glaze explained that he was uncomfortable because he was caught off-guard. He had never been kissed before because he wanted the moment to be special and to save it for his first relationship.

"I was uncomfortable in a sense of how i have never been kissed before and was not expecting it," Glaze explained on his Instagram.

The 20-year-old cashier from Enid also pointed out that the media may have twisted his words during his various interviews. The reports do not actually express his true intentions.

"The way certain articles are worded is not done by me, and my true intentions are not accurately represented in every article you read about the situation... Please take into consideration that I don't believe my views have been appropriately communicated through the media!" Glaze explained.

The Kiss

The kiss scene was part of the two-night season opener of American Idol. Perry kissed Glaze after he talked about liking being a cashier because he gets to meet cute girls. Luke Bryan then asked him if he has ever kissed a girl before and he liked it, referring to Perry's hit "I Kissed A Girl." It was during this moment that Perry motioned for the teenager to approach her so he could kiss her on the cheek. Surprisingly, the singer planted a smack on his lips instead.

The kiss may have affected his performance because it happened before he performed the self-written song "Stadium" or belted out Nick Jonas's "Levels" for his audition. The judges eventually did not say yes for him to proceed to the next round. On the up side, Glaze said the kiss helped draw attention to his music.
