'Days of Our Lives' Cast Poses for NOH8 Campaign, PHOTOS
The cast of Days of Our Lives recently posed for the NOH8 Campaign, which raises awareness and funds for gay rights causes.
The group photo, uploaded July 1 on the campaign's website, comes shortly after the Supreme Court ruled in late June a 5-4 vote that the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional. The ruling ended California's 2008 voter-approved gay marriage ban, Proposition 8.
The group photo included cast members Greg Vaughan, Nathan Owens, Billy Hayes, Lauren Koslow, Aaron Kunitz, Griffin Kunitz, Eileen Davidson, Galen Gering, Suzanne Rogers, Blake Berris, Kristian Alfonso, Deidre Hall, Joseph Mascolo and Kate Mansi. All of the same co-stars, except for child actors Aaron and Griffin Kunitz, also posed for a solo picture for the campaign.
Actor Freddie Smith, who plays the soap opera's first gay character Sonny Kiriakis, posted in his solo photo wearing a white shirt while being silenced with a finger pressed on his duct-taped lips. The photos are all available for sale on the NOH8 official website.
Days of Our Lives airs daily on NBC. According to network revealed spoilers for the week of July 8, Rafe is brought out of his coma and reacts strangely to seeing Sami by his side; Eric suffers another attack; Brady makes a confession to Maggie; Kristen visits Eric at the rectory and Jennifer demands Theresa stay away from her son.
For the completed second quarter of ratings for 2013, Days of our Lives is reportedly up 5 percent in the women 18-49 category, up 10 percent in the women 25-54 demo and up 4 percent in total viewers. The soap opera also ranked No. 5 among network daytime series on ABC, CBS and NBC in women 18-49, and tied for No. 4 in women 18-34.
The quarter ended with the week of June 24-28. Statistics are calculated by Nielsen Media Research.
