Fox host Geraldo Rivera posted on Twitter Sunday a semi-nude picture of himself taken in front of a mirror.

The sideways photo shows Rivera in front of a mirror wearing a pair of rose-colored lenses while covering himself with a towel that does not in fact cover much. He captioned the revealing image "70 is the new 50" and added that he will face scrutiny for showing the public his body.

"Erica and family are going to be so pissed...but at my age..." he added.

His wife, Erica Michelle Levy, took it all in good humor, however. told E! News, "This is exactly the kind of thing that happens when I fall asleep first. Thank god we have towels in the bathroom. But I'm proud my husband looks so hot!"

Rivera later removed the picture and tweeted, "Note to self: no tweeting after 1am," but the photo had already gone viral and many celebrities commented on his semi-nude image.

Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron tweeted, "So, @GeraldoRivera tweeted a semi-nude shot of himself claiming "70 is the new 50." Actually, "the new 50" looks a bit more like 90 proof." Actress Christian Applegate uploaded a black and white picture of herself with the caption, "My selfie in response to Geraldo Rivera. Mine is not as hot."

Model Chrissy Teigen wrote, "I opened up Geraldo's photo and my neighbor now thinks I have some old man fetish thanks."

Modern Family writer Danny Zuker referred to the sideways angle of Rivera's picture with the tweet: "Good rule of thumb: If you're too old to know how to rotate a naked Selfie maybe don't post naked Selfies. #Geraldo."
