Sandra Bullock shot down rumors that there could be a sequel to her summer comedy The Heat.

The film, which stars Bullock and Melissa McCarthy as a pair of mismatched cops, grossed over $100 million at the box office. Even with its success, Bullock doesn't think a sequel is likely.

"I know they say never say never, but right now, I can't imagine it," Bullock told Entertainment Weekly in a report Wednesday. "I don't want to ruin what Melissa and I had. If a miracle happens where [a script] shows up that really and truly outdid the first and provided an experience that was better than the first one, then I would look at it. But I'm not there."

Bullock said she is hesitant to do a sequel after starring in sequels such as Speed 2: Cruise Control and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, which both proved to be unsuccessful critically and financially.

"If you look back on my illustrious sequel work [laughs] nothing has proven successful," Bullock said. "A sequel is such a daunting thing, because you don't want to lose the magic and the charm of the first one."

Regardless of Bullock's comments, The Heat director Paul Feig said in early July that he and screenwriter Katie Dippold already have plans for a sequel.

"We've got Katie Dippold writing away on one," Feig told Yahoo! Movies on July 1. "We had an idea that we thought was really fun." Feig added that he "just love[s] these characters so much" and that he wants to "see them fighting more crime and having more fun."

The sequel may not happen, however, if Bullock is not interested in reprising her role as FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn.

Bullock can be seen as an astronaut in the upcoming space-themed film Gravity, which is set to be released on Oct. 4.
