Mama June, the mother of the lead star in television's Heres Comes Honey Boo Boo, was recently declared legally blind.

A rep from TLC told Mail Online that June acquired blurry vision due to cataracts she obtained as a child that were left untreated. Her vision is so bad she cannot have surgery because doctors fear the process might worsen the condition, according to the source.

"She can't have surgery because they believe it could do more harm than good," a TLC spokesperson said. "The damages are that bad."

During season 2's second episode, June struggled with driving a go-kart due to her poor vision during a family outing. When she went with others to celebrate her husband Sugar Bear's 41st birthday and they went joy-riding in go karts, she admitted she was reluctant to get inside one because her vision was a "little blurry." She also revealed she cannot get a driver's license because of her poor eyesight.
