Ben Schwartz's Love Language is FOOD! 'The Afterparty' Actor Reveals to Billy Crystal The Personalized Food He Would Send Every Celebrity to Make Them Happy
Ben Schwartz knows what food he would gift to every celebrity.
In a recent Interview Magazine interview, Ben Schwartz got interviewed by Billy Crystal, and the conversation revealed an amazingly curious tidbit about the star. The Afterparty actor and the Parks and Recreation alum. When different stars have birthdays, Schwartz likes to send them food. He tends to get things for people from Russ & Daughters because, "I want to bring some Jewish New York to people."
He does not send everyone one generalized thing. The fastest way to prove that you know and care about someone is to understand what they like to eat. It seems that Schwartz is a master of this special-stomach-knowlege. Crystal tested him on it. They played a game in which Crystal would name various celebrities, and Schwartz would have to say what food he would gift them on their birthday.
When Crystal said, "Madonna," Schwartz replied, "I'd get her big ice cream cones and some Jeni's ice cream to go along with that bra she wore in the '90s."
Next, Crystal named Sam Rockwell, to which Schwartz quickly quipped, "I would just give him a big piece of a big piece of beef from a brisket place in Austin, Texas. There's a place called Black's that's really good. That man works out a lot and needs his meat."
Next, Crystal mentioned the Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch. The Space Force actor pulled out one of our new favorite facts of all time: "He famously loves fried oysters." (Obsessed!)
When Lady Gaga was mentioned, Schwartz pulled out a destination food. "I would get her a piece of meat from Italy."
The next name that came up put some real-life context to this Ben-Schwartz-sends-food moment. Crystal brought up James Corden, and it turns out that Ben Schwartz has actually sent him food as a thank you, in real life.
"James was kind enough to do something for me, and I sent him ribs and the Clam Shack lobster for his entire family."
Schwartz then asked his interviewer, "Is there a food that soothes you?" to which Crystal replied, "Pizza."
