After what many have seen as a well made course correction in the Season Two of Paramount+'s Picard, adding fan favorite Q played by John de Lancie to the mix, fans will rejoice to hear that Season Three is truly getting the band back together.

It was announced on Tuesday in a video that The Next Generation crew is joining Patrick Stewart for the final season. Mind you, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, and Marina Sirtis have reprised their roles as Data, Riker, and Troi, but what makes this next chapter in the Picard Saga so exciting is the return of LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forge, Michael Dorn as Worf, and Gates McFadden as the will they won't they love interest of Jean-Luc, Dr. Beverly Crusher.

These original cast members have always been a big part of what gave The Next Generation such heart and soul, constantly challenging and helping each other grow as characters, especially Picard who started out a bit stodgy, but eventually turned the crew into a family, both on screen and off.

Season Three executive producer and show-runner Terry Matalas said this in a statement,

"I remember watching the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation almost 34 years ago with my father like it was yesterday. It was the spark that ignited my love for science-fiction. So, it's most fitting that the story of Jean-Luc Picard ends honoring the beginning, with his dearest and most loyal friends from the U.S.S. Enterprise. It would be an understatement to say that giving these characters a proper send-off is an honor. The entire Star Trek: Picard team and I can't wait for fans to experience this final, high-stakes, starship-bound adventure in season 3!"

There is not release date for Star Trek: Picard Season Three.
