The first trailer of series 3 of BBC One's hit TV show Sherlock has now hit the Internet.

The respective teaser followed the end of an encore broadcast of last season's finale that featured Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) alive and kicking, while his confidante Watson (Martin Freeman) partakes in a fancy dinner.

Many fans of the popular program are eagerly awaiting Watson's response to Sherlock's continued existence, as the former was fooled into thinking his partner was dead.

The highly popular TV series had been present at San Diego's Comic-Con in July, and executive producer Steven Moffat showcased an unseen season 3 sequence between Sherlock and Watson. The EP also announced that the third season's premiere title, which is The Empty Hearse. The episode will hone in on how much Sherlock's bogus death affected Watson.

According to Wales Online, the cast and crew were spotted last week shooting footage for the upcoming installment near Bute Street.

Cumberbatch and the newly attached Lars Mikkelsen, who'll play the villain, were also witnessed in the Cardiff vicinity. Cumberbatch was seen donning a dark hoodie that hid his character's costume.
