Leslie Jordan's health had been deteriorating in the weeks leading to his death.

Jordan shocked the industry when a news outlet reported his tragic death on Monday. KTLA revealed that the actor/comedian suffered an apparent medical emergency before crashing his car, which led to his death.

While the Los Angeles Police Department did not disclose details regarding his condition, sources recently revealed that Jordan was scheduled to have an appointment with a cardiologist before his passing.

New York Post quoted a news outlet's report on Tuesday, saying that the actor had been complaining about discomfort for the last three weeks.

Jordan was reportedly experiencing shortness of breath. With that, he scheduled himself to see his cardiologist in the week of his death.

Unfortunately, he was no longer able to determine whether he had underlying health issues, as he died on Monday around 9:30 a.m.

Aside from that issue, Jordan also caught COVID-19 last year but survived the dreaded virus. Other than those things, it was noted that the comedian was generally healthy.

Following the sources' statement, law enforcement insiders revealed that they also believed Jordan suffered a heart attack before the fatal crash.

There have been occurrences worldwide when people suffered a heart attack while driving. Unfortunately, the actor became one of those people.

Amid the talks about his potential heart disease, his official cause of death still has not been announced.

Leslie Jordan Received Heartfelt Tributes

Jordan's death was confirmed by his agent, David Shaul, and his family in different statements.

"What he lacked in height, he made up for in generosity and greatness as a son, brother, artist, comedian, partner, and human being. Knowing that he has left the world at the height of both his professional and personal life is the only solace one can have today," Shaul shared to PEOPLE.

His family, meanwhile, said that his death was unexpected since the comedian was still working days before his death. He was also able to release his gospel music album "Company's Comin" ahead of his "The Masked Singer" Season 6 appearance.

Jordan was known for his roles in the series "Star Trek: Voyager," "Nash Bridges," "Will & Grace," "Caroline in the City," "Murphy Brown," "Lois & Clark," "American Horror Story," and "The New Adventures of Superman."

But out of all the works he made, he famously made people laugh amid the COVID-19 pandemic with his comedy videos.
