'Grey's Anatomy' Season 10 Spoilers: Callie & Arizona Relationship Needs 'A Lot of Work,' Sara Ramirez Says [VIDEO]
Grey's Anatomy's Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins will have to put a lot of effort into their relationship for it to last following their infidelity issues they faced in season 9, actress Sara Ramirez said.
Season 10 starts off immediately after the events that unfolded in the season 9 finale, including Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) sleeping with Dr. Lauren Boswell (Hilarie Burton). Callie finds out about her wife's infidelity and in their confrontation past issues resurface, primarily Arizona still holding a grudge against her wife for amputating her leg in the wake of a plane crash.
This was also the second time someone Callie married decided to cheat on her, first being George O'Malley.
"It was just devastating. Heartbreaking," Ramirez told TV Line of what Callie was left to face. "I mean, it's everything you don't want to have happen, for anyone. Callie's reeling from hearing that her wife is still very, very angry and hurt. So essentially they regress back to Step 1, to where they started in Season 9. It's like, 'Ugh, we're back at the beginning,' so there is a lot of work that needs to be done."

Ramirez also hinted that it will not be easy for the couple to mend things and Callie will not try to hide her feelings from the fellow doctors at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. Fans will have to wait and see if Callie and Arizona can move forward with their relationship following infidelity and resurfaced resentment.
"We're going to see in the first few episodes Callie being reactive and acting out, dealing with her own feelings about what's happening," Ramirez said, before adding with a chuckle, "Callie doesn't hide it from the hospital, how she's feeling. No, she lets it be known!"

The show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, said in season 10 "Callie has got some stuff to deal with" as well as her wife.
"Arizona's not necessarily holding a grudge because Callie cut off her leg; that's not really what it's about," Rhimes revealed. "She got over [that] and sort of moved on, but never dealt with any of the underlying issues. There has to be something else going on there."
Grey's Anatomy returns to ABC with season 10 two-hour premiere on Sept. 26.
