American-Australian actress and producer Nicole Kidman revealed during her Ladies Professional Golf Association Q&A event that "Big Little Lies" will have its third season.

"I loved 'Big Little Lies,'" she said. She then shared that the show came at a time when she thought she was going to retire. "Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce and create that show. And then all of you watched it and made it a massive success," Kidman continued.

"And we will be bringing you a third one, just FYI," she revealed.

However, in its new season, "Big Little Lies" will be helmed by a different director. Its original director, Jean-Marc Vallée, died in 2021 at 58 from a fatal cardiac arrhythmia.

Vallée won an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or a Dramatic Special with HBO's "Big Little Lies."

One of the cast of the star-studded television series, Zoe Kravitz, reportedly thought in 2022 that "Big Little Lies" wouldn't be returning. "We talked about doing a season three a lot and, unfortunately, Jean-Marc Vallée, our incredible director passed away last year, and I just can't imagine going on without him," she said at the time.

"He really was the visionary for that show. So, unfortunately, it's done," she added.

Now that Nicole Kidman herself confirmed that there will be a third season of "Big Little Lies," fans just need to wait for more details about it.

The series, which is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, aired on HBO from February 2017 to July 2019, encompassing two seasons.

It stars actresses Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Zoe Kravitz -- the five women in Monterey, California, embroiled in an investigation of a murder.

In the second season of "Big Little Lies," Meryl Streep joined the main cast as Mary Lousie Wright -- the mother of Perry Wright (Alexander Skarsgård), the husband of Celeste (Kidman).

The first season of "Big Little Lies" won eight out of 16 nominations at the Emmys. Its actors Kidman and Skarsgård also received recognition at the Golden Globe Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards for their acting.
