Rapper Killer Mike faced an unexpected twist during his stellar night at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday.

The activist was reportedly arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge at the Grammys after he won three awards during the pre-televised portion of the show for Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Album.

Video footage captured the arrest of Killer Mike, born Michael Santiago Render, as he was handcuffed and escorted by police officers through a hallway at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The 48-year-old could be heard saying in the clip, "Are you serious?" as he is taken out of view.

Render was arrested just after 4 p.m. on Sunday following an alleged "physical altercation" near the Crypto.com Arena. Los Angeles police reported the incident on social media, stating that he was taken to the LAPD Central Division and was in the process of being released.
