Andy Samberg's upcoming comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine enlisted two new guest stars recently: Dean Winters (30 Rock, The Oz, and Rescue Me) and rapper Kid Cudi.

Winters and Cudi will play menaces in detective Jake Peralta's (Samberg) life. Winters' character, Warren Pembroke, works for the Major Crimes Unit and will be detective Jake Peralta's (Samberg) nemesis. Cudi will wreak havoc as Dustin Whitman, an ex-con and jewel thief, in an episode.

Saturday Night Live star Fred Armisen will be also be making a cameo in the first episode of the Fox show from Michael Schur and Dan Goor (creators of Parks and Recreation), which premieres on Sept. 7. Samberg, an SNL alum, is also a producer on the show. The show's cast also includes Andre Braugher, Chelsea Peretti and Terry Crews.

Samberg previously described his character as a "comedy McNulty," referring to The Wire's protagonist portrayed by Dominic West, but "instead of drinking and philandering, he would do gags in the office."

In an interview with Glamour, published in the magazine's September 2013 issue, Samberg, a member of joke-rap band, Lonely Island, talked about playing a cop on the show and three things he would make illegal if her were a cop in real life:

"Talking on your cell phone while in a public bathroom stall. Stopping conversations to show people pictures of your dog. And farting on airplanes. That's essentially taking someone's nose hostage," he said. "But promise me the article won't be all farts! I want to stay a little glamorous."
