As Prince William prepares to assume the throne, concerns are rising within royal circles over his reportedly volatile temper and emotional reactions behind closed doors. Royal author Christopher Andersen, in his new book "Kate! The Courage, Grace, and Power of the Woman Who Will Be Queen", reveals that William's temper has alarmed even his father, King Charles III, and advisers have suggested he seek anger management therapy.

As per Stylecaster, an insider familiar with palace affairs told Andersen, "There is anxiety in some royal circles that William can become intensely emotional and reactive when frustrated." The monarchy demands diplomacy, patience, and self-control — qualities that may be tested increasingly once William becomes king.

According to a palace aide cited in the book, "William is deeply passionate and protective, but that intensity can sometimes spill over into anger behind closed doors." Andersen describes the prince as capable of great bellowing tantrums, though he usually maintains respect toward palace staff and strangers and tries not to raise his voice at his wife, Catherine, or their children.

However, arguments with King Charles have reportedly sometimes escalated with William shouting loudly. A former staff member said, "William has a huge, booming voice. Much louder than his father's, so it's not something you soon forget," according to Yahoo! Entertainment.

The pressure of royal responsibility weighs heavily on William. Andersen writes that the prince feels an enormous weight of responsibility, which sometimes manifests emotionally. Advisers have reportedly recommended that William attend anger management sessions to help channel his stress more constructively.

This is in keeping with accounts from Prince Harry's memoir, "Spare", in which Harry detailed a physical altercation with William in a row over Meghan Markle. According to Harry, William grabbed him by the collar and knocked him down, causing injury.

The temper issues appear to run in the family. Andersen recalls King Charles' own outbursts, including an incident where Charles tore a sink off a wall after losing a cufflink and a widely viewed moment in 2022 when Charles angrily struggled with a leaking pen during a signing ceremony.

Whether Prince William will manage to control his temper remains uncertain as he moves closer to kingship. Observers will be watching closely as the future monarch faces increased scrutiny amid growing expectations for a modernized monarchy.
