'Grey's Anatomy' Season 10 Spoilers: Premiere PHOTO of Meredith & Derek with Baby Bailey Revealed
A recently released still from the season 10 premiere of Grey's Anatomy showed Meredith Grey holding her baby boy Bailey for the first time as her husband Derek Shepherd stands beside her.
"This is when I show her the baby for the first time," Patrick Dempsey said of the scene in the Sept. 26 premiere.
Meredith gave birth to Bailey, her first natural child, in the season 9 finale, though the process was a complicated one. Seattle's Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital was experiencing a blackout due to a superstorm that hit the city, and Meredith went in labor just as the electricity went out. She successfully gave birth - with the help of flashlights - but began bleeding on the table and went unconscious for some time. Her intern Shane helped deliver the baby with the help of an OBGYN, but he was with her alone when she began to bleed out. Shane tried controlling the bleeding himself but in the end he had to call in Miranda Bailey for help.

Meredith and Derek already have an adopted toddler named Zola. Going into season 10 as a mother-of-two, "Meredith is juggling a lot," said executive producer Shonda Rhimes, according to TV Guide.
"She's trying to be a good mom, wife and friend, and this is the year of her attending career in which she should really be trying to make her mark. To me, this is Meredith's lean-in season. She's going to discover whether or not she's interested in being that person who puts her career first."
Rhimes said in a previous interview that Meredith will experience motherhood differently now that she gave birth to a child and has to deal with a newborn. When asked if Meredith will step away from her duties as a doctor to focus more on her children, Rhimes replied, "We'll see her deal with what that choice means."
Grey's Anatomy returns with a two-hour premiere on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 9/8c on ABC.
