The NCIS: Los Angeles Ops team is saving lives and causing trouble in season 5.

Eric (Barrett Foa) and Nell (Renee Felice Smith) may not make it out in the field much, but that doesn't mean they don't get caught up in trouble like their agent cohorts.

Major Clues About Callen's Past Revealed in NCIS: LA 100th Episode

Last season viewers saw Nell venturing into roles further and further outside of her regular tech wizardry. From planting bugs and uploading information in the field to epically disarming her captor in "Kill House" (see video below), Nell is proving she is a forced to be reckoned with.

Smith recently revealed that her character will be continuing to arm herself in the early episodes of season 5.

Will Nell Eventually Replace Hetty on NCIS: LA

"Nell Jones will be packing heat," Smith told Between The Takes at CBS.

"She's the hero of an upcoming episode," Foa added.

As for Eric...well, it's going to be typically awkward Eric.

"There might be a scene or two with my character not wearing any pants," Foa said, according to Between The Takes at CBS. "It's a little embarrassing for Eric, especially being caught by [Nell]."

Who Will Leave the NCIS: LA Team in Season 5?

When NCIS: LA season 5 premieres with "Ascension," the team will still be in the process of attempting to save Sam (LL Cool J) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) while Callen (Chris O'Donnell) deals with the fact that he allowed his agents to fall into danger.

NCIS: LA returns to CBS on Sept. 24.
