The Mentalist is accelerating the search for Red John and Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) seems to be bumping into suspects all over the place.

With seven names on Jane and Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) list of possible identities for the serial killer, their investigation in episode 2, titled "Black-Winged Redbird," will put them into contact with at least four, according to TV Line.

Will a Red John Suspect Fall in the Season 6 Premiere of The Mentalist?  

Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston), Sheriff Thomas McAllister (Xander Berkeley), FBI agent Reede Smith (Drew Powell), and CBI agent Ray Haffner (Reed Diamond) will all feature in the episode.

Could Jane rule any of these men out as suspects?

"It's less like 'Seven little Indians' and more like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," series creator Bruno Heller said, according to TV Line. "Some of [the seven] will knocked out as suspects early on, others will remain."

Will Agent Van Pelt and Rigsby Get Engaged on The Mentalist?  

Red John is expected to be captured by the end of 2013 and one of the suspects may be eliminated by the end of the season 6 premiere.

"By the end of the premiere episode, there may be one less suspect," Heller teased back in July, according to TV Line.
