The PBS British-American drama, Downton Abbey, continues to stir the pot of anticipation for its upcoming fourth season.

The program undoubtedly pulled on fans' heart strings with Matthew Crawley's (Dan Stevens) fatal auto accident, which occurred in its recent Christmas Special in 2012.

Aware of the overwhelming plethora of emotions that the popular TV series serves up to its audience, executive producer Julian Fellowes spoke to Digital Spy about the range of moods that the program hits on.

"The trick of Downton is that it's quite funny, but it makes you cry. You have to keep that in mind always - it mustn't be so funny that it ceases to be real because then it won't make you cry. But you mustn't cry so much that you can't then enjoy a scene in the kitchen with Mrs. Patmore," he said.

Downton Abbey will be premiering its fourth season in the United States on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014. For more of the latest info on the popular British-American drama, keep checking back with Enstars.
