Food Challenge star Adam Richman recently revealed his 60-pound weight-loss.

He rose to fame in 2008 when Travel Channel's Man v. Food premiered and spent three seasons traveling the U.S. while taking on a variety of meal challenges, including 8-pound steaks, stuffed pizzas and massive ice cream sundaes. As the show continued its run, Richman's weight slowly crept up with each new challenge.

Richman stopped the extreme eating in 2011 and began his weight-loss journey during season 4 of the show when it was re-tooled as Man v. Food Nation, where Richman allowed his fans and followers do the eating for him. Richman's new diet included cutting back on white flour and dairy products, and upping his exercise routine to get into better shape.

The 6-ft. tall 39-year-old star is 60 pounds lighter, and happy with his new shape and size. Despite the weight gain he got from his challenges, he will never be bitter about the show that made him a star.

"Man V. Food was the biggest career-defining opportunity. I went from anonymity to someone of note with access to amazing eateries," he said, according to People magazine.

Challenges took him to cities and eateries all over the country, including Charlotte, N.C., New Haven, Conn., and even along California's Pacific Coast Highway.

Richman can be seen in his new show Fandemonium, where he immerses himself into events with legendary bases of obsessed fans, Sundays at 10 p.m. on The Travel Channel.
