Miley Cyrus is responsible for calling off her engagement to Liam Hemsworth and the singer did so because she believes her former fiance was unfaithful, a source said.

Cyrus, 20, ended things after her 14-month engagement because she was fed up with the multiple cheating reports that continued to surface. The most recent claim involved Hemsworth flirting with Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez in Las Vegas on Sept. 14. Life & Style reported that the two were together all night hanging with friends, "then headed back to a more private VIP bungalow cabana near the pool" before leaving together around 2 a.m.

Page Six cited insiders accusing the Hunger Games: Catching Fire star of making out with an unidentified brunette in Toronto on Sept. 7 and Hemworth was reportedly sexting Mad Men star January Jones recently months after eyewitnesses saw them make out at a post-Oscars party in February, Enstars reported.

The choice to end the engagement was ultimately "Miley's decision, after coming to grips with Liam being, what she believed, was less than faithful to her," sources told E!

As of Monday, the actor was in the process of moving out of Cyrus' Los Angeles home, an insider added.

The two were last spotted together on Aug. 8 at the red carpet premiere of Hemsworth's film, Paranoia, in Los Angeles. They have continued to remain their distance, with Cyrus promoting her upcoming album Bangerz in Europe while Hemsworth was in Las Vegas for the Floyd Mayweather fight on Sept. 13.

The breakup comes on the heels of Cyrus' interview in the October 2013 issue of Harper's Bazaar, in which she opened up about wedding plans.

"I definitely don't have time to deal with a wedding right now," she told the magazine. "But I will at some point."
